Due to organic materials, this product ships within Canada only.

A simple orchid mix for your Phalaenopsis and other epiphytic orchids. This blend of fir bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss provides excellent aeration and drainage for healthy, thriving roots. Due to the dryness of the mix, we recommend soaking the portion you're using in water overnight, or at least 2 hours. Let it drain thoroughly for a few minutes before potting up your plant. Ensure any remainder is dried completely before storing away.

Available in two sizes—FINE for plants with small to medium root thickness (mini or young orchids), and COARSE for plants with medium to large root thickness (regular, mature orchids). This mix can also be combined with other ingredients (soil, coco coir, peat, etc.) for plants like aroids and hoya.

This product is packed in reclosable, recyclable #4 plastic bags, and to reduce waste, we may reuse shipping materials.

Caution: contains fine particles and occasional sharp material; we recommend using gloves and working in a well-ventilated area.

POTTING GUIDE: Choose a pot with numerous drainage holes that can fit the root ball snugly; pots that are too big will hold more substrate, which holds water longer, and can lead to root rot. Water by soaking the entire pot for 5-10 minutes, and drain thoroughly. Always pour out any excess water collected by your outer pots or saucers as soon as possible. With good air circulation, this mix should dry out completely in 5-7 days. If it dries too quickly, use an outer pot without holes to help hold in moisture, or add more moisture-retaining media such as sphagnum moss. If it dries too slowly, remove sphagnum moss from the mix, choose a pot with more drainage holes, or increase air circulation around your plant.
