The Plant Puddle is an individually woman-owned small business based in Ontario, Canada. We provide specialty potting mixes and a growing selection of clear pots, moss poles, trellises, and other plant accessories.
Quality is our priority so rest assured, every product has been tested on our own collection by someone who loves plants just as much as you do! Our substrates are prepared in small batches in our workshop, and everything else is stored in Alice's basement.

Alice - Founder
Currently the only employee at The Plant Puddle. When I started collecting tropical plants, I had such a hard time finding niche plant supplies with consistent quality, so I became the solution!
I love nature, animals, art, and tending to my growing plant collection.
Everything is, in fact, stored in my basement.
Timeline
2021
This summer is when my plant collecting got...kind of intense. I needed niche, specialty potting soil, but couldn't find any consistent source with high quality. The only solution was to create my own, and I began selling on Etsy!
2022
During this time, I was working full-time in order fulfillment, and was also pursuing my fine arts career. The Plant Puddle was a fun and exciting side hustle that kept growing.
2023-2024
This little plant supply business became a full-time commitment! I left my previous job, moved to a smaller city, and began to focus only on plants. After much success, I introduced other products such as clear plant pots, trellises, and moss poles.
2025
I finally launched this official website! The Plant Puddle will continue to create new mixes, source new products, and provide the best care for all of our plants.
